Montage 2011: Sub-committee Recruitment Drive

Dear Member,

The Photographic Society of NUS (NUSPS) is now recruiting sub-committee members for our annual flagship event: Montage 2011. For more information on Montage, please visit www.montage.sg

If you wish to hone your organisation skills, gain experience in event management and share your passion in photography, the event will be an ideal platform for you!

Here are the various committees with positions open for application:

1) Competition & Exhibition:

Are you interested in logistics and event planning?

The committee is in-charge of 2 sections of Montage – Competition and Exhibition. As part of this committee, you will be mainly involved in the logistical aspects. The jobscope includes:
– Publicising the competition among schools and other mediums/outlets
– Planning and ensuring the smooth running of the judging process
– Printing and mounting of photographs for the exhibition
– Setting up and shifting of exhibited entries at various locations around Singapore
Requirements:
– Present in Singapore from the end of May to early June for Open Judging as well as preparations of the exhibition
– Present in Singapore during the June Holiday period when the exhibition is being shifted
– Partake in the planning process during school term

2) Workshop & Seminar:

Are you passionate about photography? Keen on getting up close and personal with some of Singapore’s top photographers? Or perhaps you want to learn firsthand from these photographers and hone your craft? Then YOU are exactly who we are looking for!

As part of this committee, you will have the chance to work closely with some of the most outstanding photographers in Singapore as they grace our workshops and seminars in Montage 2011. Besides rubbing shoulders with them and ensuring them a comfortable stint at Montage 2011, the committee will look into the planning and execution of the entire workshop and seminar segment of Montage 2011. This inevitably provides a platform for you to equip yourself with enhanced organizational and management skills.

Requirements:
– Available and present in Singapore in the beginning until mid-June 2011 for the actual events
– Meticulous and is interested in event management

3) Publicity:

If you have an interest in design, public relations or video-production or have great ideas on publicity, this committee is right for you!

The publicity committee is in-charge of conceptualising and designing creative materials for Montage, and implementation of publicity plans. This includes creation of publicity materials such as posters and website layout, video and management of social media platforms. The aim is to promote interest and increase awareness of Montage as an event.

Requirements:
– Available throughout the planning process (January – May 2011)
– Knowledge in Photoshop / video editting / management of social media platforms will be a plus though is not necessary.

4) IT:

If you have a passion for website development and system design, the IT committee is the right place for you.

The aim of the IT committee is to provide the most effective technical support for Montage as a nation-wide event. As part of the committee, you will be able to enhance your rational and creative thinking. The job scope of this committee includes:
– Create and maintain Montage website,
– Develop submission and judging system for Montage photo competitions,
– Solve technical problems arising during the planning period.

Requirements:
– Available throughout the planning process (January – May 2011)
– Knowledge in HTML, CSS, and PHP (optional). Experience in programing is an advantage.
